NANAIMO, B.C. — The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce the signing of forward Matthew Ross for the 2026–27 BCHL season.
The 18-year-old joins the Clippers following a standout season with the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Ross recorded 28 goals and 29 assists for 57 points in 56 games during the 2025–26 campaign.
“Matthew is a very skilled, pesky player with a real nose for the net,” said Clippers Head Coach and General Manager Colin Birkas. “He is a proven scorer at the junior level, and we expect him to produce right away.”
The Oakville, Ontario product previously played at Kimball Union Academy, recording eight goals and 20 points in 37 games during the 2024–25 season. Ross was also selected by the Niagara IceDogs in the ninth round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection.
The Clippers welcome Matthew and to Nanaimo.
