Patrick Fortune Returns to the Nanaimo Clippers

NANAIMO, BC — Patrick Fortune is coming back to Nanaimo.

The Clippers are excited to announce that the fan-favourite forward will return for his final junior season in 2026–27. Fortune is expected to arrive in Nanaimo on Tuesday.

Fortune played a major role in the Clippers’ run to the BCHL championship series last season. After a strong regular season, he elevated his game in the playoffs, including a two-goal, one-assist performance in the win that sent Nanaimo to the final.

“Coming back to Nanaimo for my final junior season is something that means a lot to me. After everything we accomplished last year and the run we had, I knew I wanted the opportunity to come back and finish what we started. I’m grateful to be back with the guys, the organization, and the fans who made my time here so special. After getting so close last year, I’m more than motivated to bring it home this time around,” said Fortune.

“Patty has been a big part of our program, and we’re excited to welcome him back,” said Clippers Head Coach and General Manager Colin Birkas. “He had a great season last year and took his game to another level in the playoffs. He’s a fan favourite for a reason, and I have no doubt he’ll be one of the best players in the league this season.”

Fortune’s return brings a familiar face back to Frank Crane Arena as the Clippers begin a new season with unfinished business.
