Welcome to the Nanaimo Clippers community. Each year, we bring in talented players
from across Canada, the U.S., and Europe. As a Billet Family, you play a key role in
giving these young athletes a stable and caring home where they can grow, thrive, and
pursue their hockey dreams.
Our players are not only skilled on the ice but also respectful, kind, and guided by
strong values. The Billet Coordinator works closely with families to ensure a great match
and a supportive experience for everyone.
Becoming a Billet is a chance to make a real difference in a player’s life while forming
meaningful connections that often last beyond the season. Open your home, share your

WHAT MAKES A GREAT BILLET:
A great Billet is caring, welcoming, and supportive. They provide a stable and safe
home where players feel comfortable, respected, and part of the family. They offer
nutritious meals to keep players healthy and energized, communicate openly, and set
clear expectations. A great Billet shows patience and understanding as players adjust to
life away from home, encourages them on and off the ice, and helps them navigate
challenges. Most importantly, a great Billet is kind, approachable, and ready to create a
positive and lasting impact in a young athlete’s life.
WHAT BILLETS PROVIDE:
- A safe, stable, and welcoming home
- A private bedroom/space, that includes a closet and dresser.
- Nutritious meals to fuel players’ performance
- Support and guidance both on and off the ice

WHAT BILLETS RECEIVES:
- A monthly stipend for each player in the household
- Season tickets to all Clipper home games for everyone in the immediate family
living in the household – with all the perks!

- Access to exclusive team events
- Support from the Billet Coordinator, including guidance to ensure a great match
with your player
- Opportunities to form last relationships with players and the Clippers community.
- The rewarding experience of helping young athletes grow and succeed.
HOUSING DATES:
- All players will arrive in early September. This allows for high school or college enrolled players to report to school for registration, as well as for training camp that will begin at the start of the month.
- Housing will continue through the end of the season, which may last through the end of March and into May.
