Woodgrove Centre is sponsoring a Lace Up with the Clippers event on February 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. For a $3 donation per session, to the Nanaimo Child Development Centre fans will be able to skate with some Clippers’ players. The skating will be on a 22 ft. by 36 ft. synthetic ice sheet in the middle of the mall, where the old clock tower was. The ice sheet will accommodate about 22 skaters per 15-minute session.
The Nanaimo Clippers will also have a table set up where they can purchase Clippers’ merchandise. You will also be able to obtain autographs from the players at the table.
The NCDC provides support, assessment and therapeutic services to nearly 1800 children and their families in Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Lantzville, Gabriola Island and Protection Island areas each year. The NCDC offers specialized assessments to children who live in the areas listed above as well as Duncan, Ucluelet, Tofino, Parksville and Qualicum Beach, who are thought to have Complex Developmental & Behavioural Conditions.
