The Clippers have finished their final extended road trip of the regular season with losses in Coquitlam, Wenatchee, and Surrey.

The first two games ended with losses of 6-3 to the Express and 10-3 versus the Wild.

Nanaimo’s third game in Surrey was a 1-0 shutout loss but the Clippers brought their ‘A’ game for the entire 60 minutes.

They outshot the Eagles 48-28 but ran into a red hot Mario Cavaliere in net.

The Sunday performance and the possibility of injured bodies coming back to the lineup gives cause for optimism with two huge divisional games coming up.

Taz Burman, Jake Harris, and Vincent Millette could all be back in the Nanaimo lineup this weekend for games in Victoria and Powell River.

Both the Grizzlies and Kings are five points ahead of the Clippers in the Island Division standings.

Nanaimo will look to snap a seven game losing streak when they head to the Q Centre on Friday night.

One of the losses in that stretch was in Victoria so Nanaimo will be highly motivated to take two points away from their division rivals.

Max Crozier will be in the lineup for this weekend’s games after returning from the CJHL Prospects game in Mississauga Ontario on Tuesday.

Crozier also found out this week that he’s ranked 115th among North American skaters for the 2018 NHL draft.

Clipper fans can take a fan bus to the game in Victoria on Friday, but it will be a little longer before the team is back at Frank Crane Arena.

Nanaimo will host the Grizzlies on January 31st.
