U16 Clippers go 2-2 on first weekend

Langley, BC – The Nanaimo Clippers U16 Team headed to Langley for their first Junior Spring Hockey League Showcase were in three days they played four games.

The first night they arrived they played the Host Team, Langley Rivermen were the Clippers never were able to get the lead in the game and ended up losing 6-3. Luke Lavery lead the way with three points, two goals and one assist while Jordan Vincent, Austin Montgomery-Parsons and Mason McNeill would all chip in for an assist each.

On Saturday the Clippers had two games, first at  2:45pm versus the West Kelowna Warriors Red Team were they ran away with the game right from the start beating the Warriors 12-4. 13 different Clipper players got on the board with Luke Lavery leading the way with six points and Theo St-Denis with four points.

In the evening they played a late game against the Surrey Eagles Navy were they were down after the first period but managed to climb back to win 3-2. Theo St-Denis, Quinten Harvie and Cole Wasmuth with the goals in the game.

And finally less than 9 hours later they were back at the arena for an early game against the Chilliwack Chiefs, were the Chiefs would catch the Clippers sleeping and take the game 7-3. Luke Lavery added two goals while Theo St-Denis added one in the loss.

The U16 Clippers will now have one weekend of practices before heading to Kelowna for the second showcase.
