Rising Hockey Star Chase Hull Set to Make Waves in Nanaimo

Chase Hull, an exceptional left-handed forward from Ottawa, Ontario, has signed with your BCHL Nanaimo Clippers. Born April 28, 2007, Hull stands at 5’11” and weighs 176 lbs. His recent performance during the 2022-23 season has captured the spotlight and garnered a great deal of attention in the hockey world.

Recognized for his exceptional skills, Chase was awarded the HEO U18 league title for Most Valuable Player and HEO U18 Top Rookie. Hull also had the honor of representing Team Ontario at the 2022-23 Canada Winter Games where he and his teammates clinched the Gold Medal. His talents earned recognition from both the OHL’s Flint Firebirds and the USHL’s Dubuque Fighting Saints, where he was drafted in the 4th round, 75th overall and the 3rd round, 38th overall, respectively.

When describing his playing style, Chase identified himself as a shoot-first player with an eye for the net. Chase speaks with confidence about his ability and it’s evident in his point totals that he can walk the walk. “I’ve got a good scoring ability,” Chase said proudly, “When I get the pick in the slot, it’s going to go in.” Dedicated to his craft, Chase looks to improve his skills throughout the summer by working on building size and strength, improving his backhand, and building his playmaking ability from the wall. 

Throughout the season, Hull showcased his exceptional talent, recording a remarkable 33 goals, 30 assists and 63 points in just 35 games. Chase continued to excel throughout the playoffs, contributing 8 goals and 5 assists for 13 points in just 8 post-season games Hull also had the opportunity to play as an affiliate for the CCHL Jr. A Renfrew Wolves, where he made a significant impact, netting a shoot game-winner in one of his two regular season appearances. Chase also played with the Jr. A team during the playoffs where he saw his ice time steadily improve each game. In four playoff games, Chase had 1 assist. The Nanaimo Clippers are excited to welcome Chase to the organization.
