The Nanaimo Clippers are very pleased to announce that defenceman #8 Matt Lahey has committed to Clarkson University. Matt expects to be going there for the 2025-2026 season.
Matt came to us from the Pacific Coast Academy U18 Prep team of the CSSHL U18. In 32 games with them he scored 3 goals and had 5 assist. Matt was also an AP for a couple of games with the Cowichan Capitals.
In his rookie season with the Clippers Matt played in 34 regular season and 11 playoff games.
Matt commented on the commitment: “I’d like to thank my teammates, coaches, billets and the opportunities Nanaimo have given me. I’m looking forward to being an impact player and pursuing my academics at Clarkson University.”
Clarkson University Golden Knights play as an NCAA Div. 1 school and play in the ECAC Conference. Clarkson University is located in Potsdam, NY.
