The Nanaimo Clippers are thrilled to announce the signing of veteran defenseman Isa Parekh. The addition of Parekh to the Clippers’ roster brings a wealth of skill, experience, and leadership to the team.
Isa Parekh, a talented right-handed offensive defenseman hails from Toronto, Ontario and stands at 6’0” tall, weighing 157 pounds. Born September 23, 2003, Parekh has proven himself as a formidable force on the ice throughout his 3-year junior A career.
Before joining the Nanaimo Clippers, Parekh showcased his exceptional abilities with the OJHL North York Rangers and Georgetown Raiders. Last season, Parekh was traded mid-season from North York to Georgetown, where he continued to impress. His offensive prowess was on display, tallying an impressive 13 goals, and 48 assists, totalling 61 points over 54 games. His talent’s continued in Georgetown’s short playoff run, adding 1 goal and 5 points in 6 games.
Parekh looks to build on his dynamically electric play style this offseason by becoming a stronger two-way player and building on his physical strength. “I’m an offensive defenseman but I pride myself on my abilities in the D-zone and want to become a more well-rounded, two-way player. I play a smart, fast game but I need to get stronger to help me win battles,” Isa said with confidence. Parekh’s dedication to the sport has also earned him a commitment to Bemidji State University for the 2024-25 NCAA season.
“I’m excited for the winning culture and atmosphere Nanaimo is known for. It’s going to be a great way to end my junior career,” Parekh added. The Nanaimo Clippers share Isa’s excitement and look forward to witnessing his impact on the ice while repping the Orange.
