Nanaimo Clippers Add Some Offense In Connor DeTurris

The Nanaimo Clippers have made an exciting addition to their roster with the signing of left-shot forward, Connor DeTurris. The soon-to-be 19-year-old brings a wealth of talent to the team.

DeTurris comes to the team after completing a successful season with the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). In 47 games with the club, he recorded an impressive stat line, tallying 19 goals and 18 assists for a total of 37 points. His offensive prowess and ability to contribute both as a scorer and a playmaker make him an exciting addition for the Nanaimo Clippers.

We dove into Connor’s decision as to why he chose Nanaimo and this is what he had to say: “The NAHL is a super gritty league and that has helped elevate my compete level night in and night out. I’m a **** you player and no one out-competes me. My skill comes from my work ethic and I do everything I can to put the puck in the net. I was often ahead of the play last season and the BCHL is known for being a faster-paced league. This is a great move for me and my game and my school agrees.”

Connor has also spent parts of the past two seasons with the USHL Madison Capitols. These stints have allowed him an opportunity to pull back the curtain on what the next level of play will look like. Intrigued by his promise, the University of New Hampshire has committed to bringing him into their organization when he’s ready for the NCAA Div. 1 level.

While DeTurris will start the season on the Injury Reserve, fans can expect to see him repping the Orange, Black, and White later this fall.
