Jordan Naylor breaks Clippers Shutout Record

How good has Jordan Naylor been this hockey season? On Friday night, he shut out the Cowichan Valley Capitals, who have the #4 ranked offence in the BCHL and sit 3rd overall in the league. The 1-0 victory by the Clippers kept the Clippers’ hopes of 1st place in the Island Division alive.

The shut out was Naylor’s 6th of the 2019-2020 campaign, a record for the Clippers in their 48 years of history. Jordan Naylor is one off the BCHL record of seven in a season.

Naylor sits within striking distance of the BCHL record for save percentage, with a staggering .935 save percentage. He sits 2nd in the BCHL with 27 wins and 2nd with a stingy 2.02 goals against average. There is no wonder the Clippers sit 2nd in goals against in the league.

Ken McPhalen, the Clippers’ goalie coach, commented, “As a second year goalie in the BCHL, Jordan has really shown he is an elite level goalie who is very hard to score on. He is easily the most athletic and positionally sound keeper I have coached bar nobody. I see Pro written all over him.”
