The Clippers won their first two games under new head coach Darren Naylor after beating Powell River 2-1 and Cowichan Valley 4-3 last week.

Taz Burman was very sharp in the win over the Kings with rookie Hunor Torzsok getting the winner.

In the game versus the Capitals the line of Jake Harris, Tristan Crozier and Cal Babych led the way with a ten point night.

Leading scorer Harris was in on every game for Nanaimo.

This week the Clippers have three games starting with a home and home series with the Bulldogs.

Nanaimo has a 4-1 record so far in the season series.

The game in Port Alberni on Wednesday will be the seventh straight road game for the team, they’ve gone 4-2 so far on the extended stay away from home.

Friday, when the Bulldogs visit, will be the first game at Frank Crane Arena since December 8.

On Saturday the West Kelowna Warriors make their only visit to Nanaimo this season.

The Warriors won the only other meeting of the year 4-1 at Royal LePage Place in October.

The Clippers finished 2017 with a record of 20-13-2-3, good for 45 points and a share of first place in the Island Division with Powell River.

This Friday’s game in Powell River is a first place showdown with the Clippers trailing the first place Kings by just a single point in the division standings.

On Saturday Nanaimo looks to continue their mastery over Cowichan Valley.

The Clippers have a 4-0 record versus the Caps so far this season.

The next home game for Nanaimo isn’t until Friday January 5 when they host the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
