For the second this season the Clippers and Grizzlies played to a draw.
The Clippers got their first point in seven games after a 3-3 tie at the Q Centre on Friday.
Cal Babych and Preston Brodziak put Nanaimo up 2-0 in the first period but Alex Newhook replied for the Grizzlies before the intermission break.
Newhook scored the only goal of the second, and Shawn O’Malley got Victoria out in front 3-2 early in the third period.
The Clippers were pressing to tie late but found themselves down a man thanks to a tripping call on Parker Colley.
Nanaimo pulled goalie Taz Burman to go 5 on 5, and with 6.5 seconds left Cal Babych tied the game.
The Clippers started OT down a man and then later had a power play of their own but both Burman and Grizzlies goalie Kurtis Chapman were stellar in net.
The final shots were 43-39 for the Clippers with Nanaimo going 0/4 on the power play and 6/6 on the penalty kill.
That included a long 5 on 3 kill for the Clippers in the third period.
