BURMAN LEADS THE WAY IN CLIPPERS 4-0 SHUTOUT OF POWELL RIVER

Goalie Taz Burman stole the show and the Clippers power play took care of the rest, in a 4-0 shutout win over the Powell River Kings.

Burman stopped all 47 shots he faced on Saturday as Nanaimo became the first team to hand Powell River a home ice loss in regulation time.

The Clippers scored a trio of power play goals in the opening 20 minutes with Jamie Collins, Cal Babych, and Parker Colley beating Kings goalie Mitch Adamyk.

Preston Brodziak added his first BCHL goal, also on a power play, in the second period to put the game out of reach.

The night ended with Nanaimo going 4/9 on the power play and 6/6 killing penalties.

The Clippers did not allow a power play goal against in 15 opportunities by the Kings in their weekend series.

That is Nanaimo’s best sequence of penalty killing all season.

The final shots were 47-30 in favour of Powell River.

Saturday’s Three Stars

1) Taz Burman 47 saves

2) Parker Colley 1g

3) Jamie Collins 1g

The season series now sits at 2-1 Powell River with the next meeting November 10 at Frank Crane Arena.

Nanaimo has one home game this coming week with the Trail Smoke Eaters in town on November 3.

The Clippers play on the road in Cowichan on November 5.
