Silverbacks shutout Clippers 2-0 to end road trip

The Clippers dropped a 2-0 decision to the Silverbacks to wrap up their Interior road trip.

A first period power play goal by Salmon Arm’s Daniel Rybarik and a tally 19 seconds into the third by Drew Bennett were the only goals in the game.

Zach Bennett was strong in the Nanaimo net with 43 saves on 45 shots.

The Clippers put 33 shots on Silverbacks starter Ethan Langenegger.

Nanaimo was shorthanded eight times in the game and had four power plays including two in the late going with the Clippers pressing heavily.

At the end of their road trip Nanaimo is 10-5-0-1 and one point out of first place in the Island Division.

With the win Salmon Arm has a league high 25 points and a league best 8-1 record on home ice.

Nanaimo gets back on home ice Friday Oct. 25 against Victoria to begin a six game home stand.
