The Nanaimo Clippers are thrilled to announce the latest addition to their roster, forward Luke Bibby. The left-winger is set to bring his talents and electrifying presence to the team.
Bibby, hailing from Brantford, Ontario, he stands at 6'0" and weighs 170 lbs. Bibby's physicality, combined with his finesse on the ice, make him a force that promises to elevate the Clippers' game to new heights.
During the 2022-23 season, Bibby donned the jersey of the Brooks Bandits in the AJHL. In 24 games, he showcased his versatility to the depth of their lineup, contributing 2 goals and 7 assists, accumulating a total of 9 points. The young talent also added an AJHL Championship title to his resume following a successful season with Brooks. His prowess isn't confined to his recent performance, however, Bibby's journey to this point has been nothing short of remarkable.
In the 2021-22 season, Bibby demonstrated his remarkable potential with the GOJHL Cambridge Redhawks. Tallying an impressive 57 points in just 48 games played, including 31 goals and 26 assists, he proved his prowess as a more-than-a-point-per-game player. His invaluable contributions didn't go unnoticed, as he played a pivotal role in the Redhawks' deep playoff run.
When asked how he would describe his game, Luke had this to say, “I’m a hard-working, 200-foot player. I like to create a lot of offence while taking care of the defensive zone. If I’m having a hard time getting on the scoresheet, I find more physical ways of being effective.”
Luke’s dedication, skill, and passion for the game are the embodiment of the team's spirit, and his signing marks an exciting new chapter for both Bibby and the Clippers. “I’m excited for a fresh start in Nanaimo.
