Nanaimo Clippers Score a Powerhouse with Forward Connor Haynes

The Nanaimo Clippers are thrilled to announce the newest addition to their roster, forward Connor Haynes. With immense excitement, the team welcomes the GOJHL star to the Clippers family as they gear up for the upcoming season.

Standing tall at 6'1" and weighing in at 187 lbs, Haynes brings a formidable presence to the ice. Born on October 15, 2005, in Sault Ste. Marie, Connor grew up in Toronto where he has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of hockey.

Haynes has left a trail of success in his wake, most recently with the Hamilton Kilty B's during the 2022-23 season in the GOJHL league. His stats speak volumes: in 40 games, he netted an impressive 18 goals and tallied 26 assists, amassing a total of 44 points. “I do a bit of everything,” Connor said, “I like to be effective at both ends of the ice - whether it’s making plays or keeping the puck out of my own net.”

It's no surprise that Haynes caught the attention of the hockey world early on. In the 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft, he was chosen by the Niagara IceDogs in the 4th round, 65th overall. This recognition speaks to his potential and skill on the ice, and his journey is far from over.

The 2022-23 playoff season witnessed Haynes and the Hamilton Kilty B's capturing the Golden Horseshoe division crown, a testament to his contribution as a valuable team player. Though they narrowly missed out on the GOJHL final, Haynes's dedication and drive shone brightly throughout. During their playoff run, Connor put on an outstanding performance, where he notched 5 goals and an astonishing 13 assists, racking up an impressive 18 points in just 16 games.
