Nanaimo Clippers Hire Robb Hunter as Director of Business Operations

With the departure of Tali Campbell from the Nanaimo Clippers operations, the Clippers undertook a nation-wide search for a suitable replacement to head up the business operations of the Nanaimo Clippers.
With that said, the Clippers announce the hiring of Robb Hunter.
Mr. Hunter holds a Business of Hockey MBA from Athabasca University. His most previous was with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League. Mr. Hunter was principally involved with all aspects of the sales cycle to generate new corporate partners for the WHL team. As part of his MBA work, he was also involved with the Red Deer Rebels WHL club, creating a Franchise Development Plan in 2019.
Previous to his tenure with the WHL, Robb was the Director Business Operations for the Bonnyville Junior A Pontiacs of the AJHL from 2017 to 2019. He managed all operating budgets, lead all the team marketing and sponsorship initiatives and was heavily involved in game day activities for the Pontiacs. Hence, Mr. Hunter is well-qualified to jump into his role with the Nanaimo Clippers.
Mr. Hunter also was the co-chair for the World Junior A Challenge in 2016 and 2018. He oversaw the committees and volunteers as well as spearheaded the strategic planning and bid application while also assisting in fundraising initiatives. Dean McIntosh of Hockey Canada remarked; “Through his exceptional leadership, Robb was instrumental in bringing the WJAC to his community. These abilities shone as he recruited and managed a diverse Host Organization Committee. Robb provided a clear vision, direction and innovative solutions to successfully execute the event.”
Previous to his hockey endeavours, Robb was the News and Sports Director for Kool 101.3 FM for eight years and also worked as the Director of Marketing for 5 Star Restaurant Group, both out of Bonnyville, Alberta.
Wesley Mussio, Owner and President of the Nanaimo Clippers added; “I was pleasantly surprised at the number of excellent candidates that put their name forward for this position. We decided to hire Robb as he has an extensive background in hockey and has been very successful at all levels. While the Clippers are losing a valuable asset in Tali Campbell, I have every expectation that Robb will step right into the position and advance the team even further in the community. I’m very excited about this hire and look forward to seeing what Robb can do to bring the Clippers to a new level.”
