Nanaimo Clippers Add To Leadership Group

Nanaimo, B.C. [November 12th] — The Nanaimo Clippers are proud to announce that Nathan Larioza has been named team Captain and Nicholas Holomego has been named Assistant Captain for the remainder of the 2025-26 BCHL season.

Larioza, from Los Gatos, California, USA, joined the Clippers during the 2024-25 season and has been a steady presence on and off the ice. In his first year with the team, he appeared in 52 games, collecting 14 assists. This season, he has continued to impress, recording 16 points in 16 games while leading by example through his consistency and competitiveness.

Head Coach and General Manager Colin Birkas described Larioza as “one of the best players in the league,” noting that “he leads by example — quiet by nature, but he’ll speak up when needed. He’s earned the respect of his teammates and coaching staff through the way he carries himself every day.”

The Clippers have also named Nicholas Holomego, from Thunder Bay, Ontario, as Assistant Captain. Holomego joined the Clippers this season and immediately made an impact with his toughness, team-first attitude, and leadership presence in the dressing room.

“Nick showed leadership skills the minute he arrived,” said Birkas. “He loves to play a style of hockey that many players don’t — hard, tough, and fearless. He puts his body on the line every game and sets a standard for what it means to be a Clipper.”

The Clippers congratulate Nathan and Nicholas on their well-deserved appointments and look forward to their continued leadership both on and off the ice.
