Jaeger Murdoch is a 2004 born forward from West Vancouver that has committed to the Nanaimo Clippers for the 2020-2021 season. He’s a draft pick of the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League but has decided to pursue the college route instead of the WHL route. Jaeger played his minor hockey at the North Shore Winter Club where he went to the Peewee Québec tournament twice on the A1 team. He then transferred over to Delta Hockey Academy for a year and onto the Burnaby Winter Club Academy program. In his last year, he had 26 points, including 9 goals, in 36 games for the Burnaby Winter Club as well as played one game for the Nanaimo Clippers as an AP. He was also a regular attendant at the Clippers practice sessions last year.
Wes Mussio, owner of the Clippers, commented “Jaeger is a hardworking smooth skating forward who plays with tenacity. He is a good sized player who, when he fills out, will be hard to separate from the puck. He is a 200 ft player with nice offensive awareness. Jaeger is an important part of our future and so we are bringing him in this year with the hope that he will be here for three years and becomes part of our leadership group down the line.”
Darren Naylor, Head Coach and Vice-President of the Clippers, noted, “Jaeger is a player whom I coached on one of the top 04 spring teams in North America. Jaeger is a smart player with a high hockey IQ who works extremely hard and has played high end hockey pretty much his whole life. Jaegar is a big pick up for us and will be a big part of the Clippers’ future.”
