Goaltenders show in 1-0 loss to Kings

After an early morning start the Nanaimo Clippers arrived in Powell River set for a back to back games at Hap Parker Arena to end 2019. In game one on Monday night it was a goaltenders battle where both Jordan Naylor and Derek Krall were incredible.

It was a quiet first period on all fronts with both teams getting one penalty each and Nanaimo got one more shot off but the score remained 0-0.

During the second period the Clippers penalty kill was busy having to kill off four penalties while also being on the powerplay once. Jordan Naylor was stellar stopping the 13 shots he faced to keep the game knotted at 0.

On the Kings seventh powerplay of the night they managed to sneak by one Naylor, the goal was credited to Ethan Schmunk which would also be the game winner.

Clippers goaltender Jordan Naylor would stop 36 of 37 shots and earn third star of the game.

Both teams are back in action Tuesday, December 31st at 5:00PM>
