The Clippers turned in two great performances over weekend with a tie in Victoria and a win in Powell River.

Both games went to overtime tied at three – and Nanaimo was able to break the tie against the Kings on Saturday night.

Cal Babych had two goals including the tying marker with 6.5 seconds left in the game versus the Grizzlies, while Brady Lynn had a pair and Jordan Wharrie notched the OT winner against Powell River.

The Clippers welcomed Taz Burman and Vincent Millette back from the injured list and both were solid contributors to the team taking three out of a possible four points.

This week Nanaimo returns home from five straight games on the road.

Victoria visits on Wednesday and then Cowichan Valley comes to Frank Crane Arena on Friday.

The Clippers and Grizzlies will wrap up their season series with Victoria holding a 4-1-2 record so far.

Nanaimo enters the week five points back of their south island rivals for first place in the Island Division.

The Cowichan game starts a stretch of three head to head matchups in a span of 14 days.

Nanaimo is 5-0 against the Caps this year but three of the five games have been very tight contests.

Wednesday’s game will end the busiest month of the season – 12 games in 31 days.

February will be a light month in comparison with eight games to wrap up the season – with six of them being at home
