The Clippers first ever meeting with the Wenatchee Wild ended in a 4-2 loss on Saturday.
Nanaimo started well with a power play goal from Devin Brosseau in the first period.
Wenatchee tied it up with a tip in by Blake Christensen, before Zach Court gave the Clippers a 2-1 advantage after one.
The Wild’s Kyle Stephan scored the only goal of the second period to even the score at 2-2.
Wenatchee scored in the first minute of the third on a goal by Mike Coyne, and the Clippers gave up a last minute goal to Dakota Raabe.
Saturday’s final shots were 29-21 for Nanaimo with Garrett Nieto getting the win over Clippers goalie Jonathan Reinhart.
Nanaimo finished 2/8 on the power play and 4/5 killing penalties.
