CLIPPERS VS CENTENNIALS – SEPTEMBER 25 – GAME SUMMARY

The Clippers offence came alive in a big way with a 6-0 win over the Merritt on Friday.

It was an especially good game for the line of Brosseau, Hoover, and Rempal who combined for 10 points, and for goalie Jonathan Reinhart who recorded his first career BCHL shutout.

Nanaimo had the only goal of the first period thanks to a solo one on two rush converted by Sheldon Rempal.

Rempal scored again early in the second on a Nanaimo man advantage, and then set up Jordan Low for his first of the season.

Matt Hoover capped off the period with a pair of goals, first a power play tip in and then a long range blast to the stick side of goalie Colten Lancaster.

The Clippers had the only goal of the third on a three way passing play finished off by Kale Bennett.

Nanaimo outshot Merritt 32-28 and swept the Three Stars with Jonathan Reinhart taking First Star honours, Sheldon Rempal was Second Star with two goals and two assists, and Yanni Kaldis was Third Star with four assists.

Friday’s game was also the debut for new Clipper forward Zach Court, the former USHLer got into a scrap and played his first game on a line with Brendan Shane and Lucas Finner.

The Clippers are back in action Saturday when the play Coquitlam at 1pm.
