Clippers Sign Smooth‑Skating Defenseman Landon Pappas

Nanaimo, BC – July 23, 2025 – The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce the signing of 2005-born defenseman Landon Pappas, who brings a proven winning pedigree and versatile junior hockey experience to our blue line.

Pappas (5’11″, 168 lb; shoots left), hailing from Airdrie, Alberta, joins the Clippers following a standout junior career across multiple leagues, including the SJHL, AJHL, USHL, and BCHL. Most recently, he excelled with the Calgary Canucks in the AJHL, contributing 13 assists in 10 regular-season games and adding 10 points in 13 postseason outings, helping lead the team to a CJHL national championship

Prior to that, Pappas displayed his puck-moving ability with the Nipawin Hawks (55 GP, 6 G, 23 A) in the SJHL, and gained experience in the USHL with the Fargo Force. He also made 24 appearances for the Vernon Vipers earlier in the 2024–25 campaign.

Colin Birkas commented:

“Landon is a smooth-skating defenseman with solid offensive instincts. He’s got a championship mindset and the ability to move the puck under pressure — traits we value highly on our blueline.”

Pappas brings not only skill but also championship experience, joining Hayden Fechner, who earlier this year joined Nanaimo from the Calgary Canucks, as part of our revamped blue line core.

Welcome to The Harbour City, Landon!
