Clippers Lose to Kings

The Clippers had only one road loss on the season heading into Friday's game against Powell River. 
 
That loss was to the Kings and Powell River defeated Nanaimo again 3-0 at the Hap Parker Arena with Jamie Phillips getting the shutout.
 
Matt Scarth was credited with the game winner at 3:26 of the first period in a game that didn't have a ton of chances either way.
 
The first period ended 1-0 and Taylor Carmola hitting the cross bar was the best chance of the second period.
 
In the third Powell River had five straight power plays.
 
During a five on three for 1:46, the Kings had a disallowed goal but soon after on a one man advantage Chris Williams point shot eluded Billy Faust at 9:57.
 
That was followed by an empty net power play goal at 18:59 by James Neil.
 
The power plays finished 2/8 for Powell River and 0/4 for Nanaimo, with the Kings winning the shots on goal battle 33-26.

Nanaimo's David Iacono was suspended for the game but got the call to go over to Langley to suit up for the CJHL Prospects Game.  He will play for Team West Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at noon.
 
Nanaimo and Powell River will finish off their three game series with a game Saturday night in Powell River and the finale at Frank Crane Arena on Wednesday.
