Clippers lose 4-0 to Salmon Arm Silverbacks

NANAIMO – The Clippers dropped a fourth game in a row with a 4-0 home ice loss to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. 

In the first period Nanaimo got off to a good start with a handful of great chances all stopped by Matthew Armitage. Then Salmon Arm got a pair of late goals by Justin Wilson shorthanded, and an in close chance by Hudson Schandor in the final minute.

The Silverbacks scored the only goal of the second period when Wilson beat Jordan Naylor on a shot from the slot.1 Tyson Gayfer added some insurance in the third period when he tallied from the right side down low.

The final shots finished 28-26 for the Clippers and neither team scored on the man advantage with Nanaimo going 0/2 and Salmon Arm ending up 0/4.

Saturday’s Three Stars were Matthew Armitage (28 saves), Justin Wilson (2 goals), and Aiden Hansen-Bukata.

The Clippers have a busy week coming with home games against Victoria Wednesday, Vernon Friday, and Penticton on Sunday.
