CLIPPERS HAVE POINTS IN NINE STRAIGHT BUT LOSE 2-1 IN OT VERSUS LANGLEY

Sunday’s result in Langley was bittersweet for the Clippers.
They lost 2-1 in double overtime to the Rivermen, but earned a point for the ninth game in a row.
Nanaimo is 6-0-0-3 over that span and now have a share of first place in the Island Division.
Both the Clippers and Powell River Kings have 30 points.
Trevor St. Jean opened the scoring for Langley with the only goal of the first period.
Jake Harris tied the game with his team leading 12th goal of the season early in the second.
Shortly after the Harris goal, Rivermen starter Chad Cromar left the game with what looked like a lower body injury.
From that point forward his replacement Braedon Fleming and the Clippers Taz Burman were perfect until three on three OT.
Burman made several huge stops for the Clippers including a third period breakaway save on Sean Gulka.
In OT Trevor St. Jean notched the game winner, getting his second goal of the afternoon.
Nanaimo outshot the Rivermen 32-31 and neither team scored on the power play.
The Clippers went 0/4 and Langley was 0/2.
