Clippers Acquire Dylan Kinch in Trade with Chilliwack

The Nanaimo Clippers have acquired forward, Dylan Kinch, from the Chilliwack Chiefs in exchange for Willyam Gendron.

Dylan Kinch, a second-year BCHL veteran has scored 9 goals and added 15 assists for 24 points in 33 games with the Chiefs this season. Last year, Kinch finished with a total of 22 points in 51 regular season games before posting an impressive 13 points in 15 games during the playoffs.

Coach Colin Birkas provided insight on the move, saying “As we prepare for the trade deadline, we have identified certain needs that will put us in the best possible position going into the playoffs. Dylan Kinch has been a thorn in our side every time we played Chilliwack, especially in the playoffs last season. In Dylan, we are getting a BCHL veteran and a proven playoff performer. With Dylan slated to return to the BCHL next season, this move will add to our team right now, while also setting us up well for next season.”

Birkas added, “Willyam has been a great Clipper and we wish him all the best as he continues his career in Chilliwack and beyond.

Kinch is expected to make his Clipper debut this weekend in Powell River, while you can catch him at home against the West Kelowna Warriors on Friday, Feb. 2nd and he will wear #28 with the Clippers.
