The Nanaimo Clippers have announced that Captain Marcus Mitchell has been named this week’s Panago Pizza Player of the Week.
Mitchell who hails from Kelowna, BC has played in over 180 games in the BCHL for three different teams. With the Clippers this is his first season and in 38 games he has 40 points, 19 goals and 21 assists.
The first game of the week the Clippers lost a tough one to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 5-2, in that game Mitchell got the only two goals for the Clippers both on the powerplay. He was named the games second star.
On Friday night in Port Alberni Mitchell added one goal in the 6-5 victory over the Bulldogs and on Saturday night he added a goal in the second period in the 5-3 loss to Merritt.
