Jay Johnson is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jay played Junior Hockey in the WHL with the Moose Jaw Warriors and in the MJHL. He then played 3 years Minor Pro with the Fresno Falcons of the WCHL.
In 2009 Jay was the driving force and one of the original owners that brought Junior Hockey to Fresno, California, for the first time. He coached the Fresno Monsters of the WSHL for 3 years and has been involved in Minor hockey for more than 25 years.
