The Nanaimo Clippers slow start caused them a 5-2 loss on Wednesday evening against the Coquitlam Express at Frank Crane Arena.
In the first period the Express started things off early into the first period by a point show by Adam Trotman. The Clippers would even things up at 4:38 with a goal by Steven Agriogianis assisted by Tim Washe. The Express would regain their lead late in the frame by Ethan O’Rourke.
Both teams would trade goals in the second period first by Kyler Kovich assisted by Josh Bourne and Jack O’Brien, but the Express again would regain their lead by Greg Lapointe.
Express would add two more goals in the final period one on the powerplay and one shorthanded to take the game 5-2.
The Clippers are back in action Friday night when the Alberni Valley Bulldogs visit Frank Crane Arena.
