Devon Mussio, one of the key defencemen for the Nanaimo Clippers over the last two years, has committed to Mercyhurst University in the NCAA Division 1 after the University of Alaska Anchorage NCAA Division 1 program was closed down for the 2020-2021 season due to COVID-19 lockdowns in Alaska.
Mussio played 100 regular season games for the Clippers over two seasons and had 58 points while receiving the Top defenceman award for the 2019-2020 season. He also made the Island’s All-20 Allstar team while finishing 8thoverall in Defence scoring in the entire league in 2019-2020.
In the playoffs, over two seasons, Mussio had 9 points in 9 playoff games. In the 2019-2020 season he led the entire league in defenceman scoring with 6 points in 4 games including 2 goals.
