Clippers sign Coleman Jenkins

The Clippers have added Coleman Jenkins, a 2003 born forward from Mansfield, Massachusetts for the 2022-2023 season. Jenkins is a 6-foot 3-inch, 185-pound forward who is currently playing at Taber Academy, part of the US High School Prep League. He was drafted in the 1st round, #8 overall by the Saint John Sea Dogs in the QMJHL (Major Junior) but instead, has decided on the college hockey route as he is committed to Holy Cross in the NCAA Division I. In 2020-2021, Jenkins played for the Boston Junior Bruins in the NCDC (Junior A), where he scored 6 goals and added 6 assists for 12 points in 26 games as a rookie. In his time in the USHS-Prep league, Jenkins added 9 goals and 16 assists for 25 points in 28 games.

Colin Birkas, Associate Coach, who scouted Jenkins offered; “Jenkins is going to be physically dominant in the BCHL next year. He’s a power forward who plays hard every shift. Physically, he is one or the most advanced players at the US High School prep level. He has good speed for a big body forward and also has a great shot with a nice release. We are expecting Jenkins to come in next year and be an impact player in the BCHL.”

Wesley Mussio, owner of the Clippers added; “The Clippers have been spending quite a bit of time in recent weeks securing our US imports for next year. We have a few coming back from this year’s team but a number of our key US players are probably going on to college hockey for 2022-2023. I’m very satisfied on the quality of the US recruits we’d be making over the last few weeks and it should translate into a another top-end team for 2022-2023.”
