Clippers lose to Cents

The Nanaimo Clippers would fall to the Merritt Centennials 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at Frank Crane to end a 3-game home stand.

The Cents would come out strong in the first and out-shoot the Clippers 12-7 in the first, scoring once to lead 1-0 after 1.

In the 2nd there wasn't much for offense as the Clippers and Cents were almost even in shots, with the period ending the same as the first, 1-0 after 2 periods of play.

In the 3rd period Merritt would open up a 3-0 lead at 1:23 and 3:32, before Mason Mitchell would get Nanaimo on the board at 9:48. Assists went to Kyle Kramer and Chris Rygus. The Cent's would extend the lead back to three goals at the 13:45 mark, while Mitchell would get his 2nd of the game at 17:11. Merritt would add an empty netter to win 5-2.
