Nanaimo Clippers’ Head Coach Mike Vandekamp has always wanted to have a father/son road trip with one of his teams. This past weekend, December 15th, 16th and 17th, he was able to pull it off. With about fourteen fathers accompanying or joining the team with games in Trail, Penticton and Merritt.
The fathers and players had a great time and to top it off, the team won two of the three games. In Trail the Smoke Eaters scored first and the Clippers responded with three goals and finally winning 7 to 3. The home team again scored first in Penticton. Again the Clippers responded with three goals and ended up winning 4-2.
