CLIPPERS EDGE CAPITALS 2-1

NANAIMO – The new look Clippers edged Cowichan Valley 2-1 on Friday night.

They welcomed recent acquisitions Marcus Joseph and Ben Taylor to the line up, and welcomed back Lucas Finner from a two month absence for a hand injury.

Nanaimo built up a 2-0 lead on goals by Brady Lynn in the first period and Aidan Casey in the second.

The Capitals only goal came shorthanded with four minutes left in the game by Nicholas Wilson.

Evan DeBrouwer made 23 saves in the win while Lane Michasiw stopped 26 in a losing cause.

Nanaimo went 0/5 on the power play and 2/2 on the PK.

The season series now sits at 3-2-0-1 for the Clippers, who have a day off before hosting Prince George on Sunday afternoon.
