The Nanaimo Clipper fans were taken on a stroll down memory lane prior to the game on Wednesday evening as the Clippers inducted former Captain Matt Irwin into the new Wall of Honour. Following the special presentation the Clippers went on to beat the Bulldogs 5-4 in a shootout.
Both teams traded a goal each in the first period, Clippers first by MacKenzie Merriman followed shortly after by the Bulldogs Captain Mitche Deelstra.
In the second period the Clippers unloaded with three unanswered goals first by Time Washe shorthanded, followed by Tyler Williams and Sean Donaldson to end the period 4-1 Clippers.
The Bulldogs did not quit though unloading three goals of their own in the third first by Grayson Valente, followed by two goals by Ryan Doolin to send the game to overtime.
Overtime solved nothing, and after eight rounds in the shootout Kyler Kovich would score to take the game 5-4 and give the Clippers their fifth win in a row.
The Clippers now travel to Victoria on Friday night to take on the Grizzlies.
