Clippers Alumni Attending NHL Training Camps

NHL teams announced their 2021 training camp rosters and a total of 48 BCHL alumni will be participating in camps across the league.
The highest amount of BCHL representation can be found on the Detroit Red Wings roster where five former players from the league are listed. Five other NHL teams have three alums at camp.
24 of the 31 teams have at least one former BCHL player on their roster.
Training camps will take place over the next week or so and then teams will need to cut down to their final rosters ahead of opening night of the NHL schedule on Jan. 13.

Former Clippers Captain, Matt Irwin played for the team from 2005 until 2008. During his time in Nanaimo, he played 221 games collecting 139 points. Following his time with the Clippers, Irwin went on to play at UMass before spending the last 10 seasons playing between the NHL and AHL. Irwin is currently attending the Buffalo Sabres training camp.

Clippers alumnus Sheldon Rempal played for the team from 2013-2016 where he appeared in 167 regular-season games and 42 playoff games. Rempal tallied 252 points with 133 coming from his final season before he headed to Clarkson University. Rempal has spent the past two seasons playing for the Ontario Reign (AHL) and appeared in 7 games with the LA Kings during the 2018-2019 season. Currently, Rempal is attending the Carolina Hurricanes training camp.
