Bizzare game ends in a 6-3 loss for Clippers

The Nanaimo Clippers headed into The Q Centre in Langford looking for some revenge after a 3-1 loss to the Victoria Grizzlies on Wednesday night, however the Grizzlies wouldn’t let that happen as they would win 5-3 in a bizzare game.

In the first few minutes of the period the glass would smash near the penalty box which would delay the game by about 15 minutes. Once the game resumed both teams would share a goal each, first by Victoria at 5:59 on the powerplay by Cody Monds followed by a Clipper goal by Josh Kagan.

During the second period the Grizzlies would score two goals to take the lead 4-2, first by Chase McInnis at 57 seconds into the second followed by a powerplay goal at 16:58 by Cody Monds.

A handful of goals were scored in the third period, three by Victoria and two by Nanaimo to give the Grizzlies the 6-3 win. During the third period over 28 minutes of penalties were handed out.

The Clippers return to home ice tomorrow afternoon against the Merritt Centennials at Frank Crane Arena.
