Final Regular Season Game is Fan Appreciation Day

NANAIMO, BC - The Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are excited to announce their final home game of the regular season on March 12th at 2:00 pm. This game is not to be missed as it is also Fan Appreciation Day, where the Clippers will show their gratitude for their loyal fans.

The Clippers are hoping to set a new BCHL record* for tickets purchased for a game, and are calling on all fans to come out and support the team. In an effort to help set the record and support Habitat for Humanity, the team will be donating $1 from every ticket purchased to the local charity.

The current BCHL record is 5,008 tickets purchased for a game between the Chilliwack Chiefs and the Cranbrook Bucks in Chilliwack on January 7th, 2023. The Frank Crane Arena only has a seating capacity for just over 2,300 fans, so in order to help set the record, the team is also issuing virtual tickets which people can purchase for $1. The $1 from their Virtual Ticket purchase will also be donated to the local charity Habitat for Humanity.

"We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to support the Clippers and Habitat for Humanity, even if they can't be there in person," said Robb Hunter, Director of Business Operations for the team. "With the virtual ticket option, fans can have a seat at their own home and enjoy the game on the radio broadcast on 106.9 The Wolf with Voice of the Clippers Dan Marshall."

Head Coach Colin Birkas is also looking forward to the game and is encouraging fans to come out or purchase virtual tickets and show their support. "Our fans have been with us every step of the way this season, and we are grateful for their unwavering support," said Birkas. "We hope to see a packed arena on March 12th, as we look to finish the regular season on a high note."

Fan Appreciation Day will feature a number of activities and giveaways, including the chance to win autographed merchandise, meet and greets with players, and much more. The Clippers are also encouraging fans to wear their best orange gear to show their team spirit.

Tickets for the game and virtual tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at

or at the Clippers office. Don't miss your chance to be a part of history and help the Nanaimo Clippers set a new BCHL record* while supporting a great cause.
