Nanaimo Clippers Acquire Skyler Cameron

In a move to add home grown talent and shore up the defensive core, the Nanaimo Clippers have added defenceman Skyler Cameron to their roster for the 2021-2022 season. Cameron was dealt by the West Kelowna Warriors to the Clippers in exchange for future considerations.

Darren Naylor, Head Coach and GM, explained, “Skyler brings a much needed veteran presence to the young D core we had last year. He is a high IQ player with a heavy shot and a big body presence. This is Skyler’s third year in the BCHL and so we are expecting him to be a leader on and off the ice.”

Wes Mussio, President and owner of the Clippers, added, “One of my commitments to Nanaimo is to bring in home grown talent that can play at the BCHL level and so Skyler checked a key box in our recruiting agenda. He also adds some much needed size and experience to our defencive core. Last year, we were relatively young on the back-end and lacked grit so we were easy to play against. With Skyler and our other recent additions, coupled with our returning players, I am confident that our D core will be outstanding this coming year.”
