Two big divisional games failed to gain any results for the Clippers last week.
Nanaimo lost 4-1 to the first place Kings on Friday and 9-4 to the third place Grizzlies on Saturday.
In Friday’s game the Clippers gave up two goals in 18 seconds in the first period and were never able to recover.
On Saturday Victoria scored on the game’s first shift and the game spiraled out of control for there.
To wrap up the pre-Christmas schedule the Clippers visit Trail, Penticton, and Merritt.
The last Nanaimo played Trail the game ended in a very entertaining 4-3 game that the Smoke Eaters won in overtime.
The Clippers just played the Vees on the first of December and that contest ended with a 2-1 Penticton victory.
It was one of the best played games at Frank Crane Arena this season.
Sunday will be the first meeting with the Merritt Centennials this year.
Former Clipper goalie Austin Roden is member of the Cents, as is 20-year-old Zach Court.
Last Saturday’s game in Victoria was the first of seven away from home for the Clippers.
After the Clippers get home from Merritt they’ll enjoy a Christmas break.
Then it’s off to Powell River and Cowichan Valley on December 29 and 30.
Entering the week Nanaimo is three points behind the first place Kings and just one point ahead of the third place Grizzlies.
