Wes Mussio was born and raised in Trail, British Columbia and graduated from J.L. Crowe Senior Secondary in 1982. In high school, Wes Mussio played at the highest level in hockey, participating in the Trail Smoke Eater hockey program. He also excelled at soccer and in track and field particularly at the 400 meter distance.
After starting his post-secondary studies at Selkirk College in Castlegar for one year, Wesley Mussio moved to the University of British Columbia (“UBC”) where he studied in the Faculty of Forestry. He then graduated in 1986 with a BSF (Bachelor of Science in Forestry). Wesley Mussio began pursuing a Registered Professional Forester (“RPF”) designation after graduation from forestry and before entering the Faculty of Law at UBC. Mr. Mussio then graduated in 1990 with a LLB (Bachelor of Law).
While at UBC, Wes Mussio was heavily involved in athletic programs. He played high level hockey and soccer at UBC. After university, he continued playing hockey in various commercial hockey program across the Province.
Wes Mussio began working in the area of ICBC injury claims, since becoming a lawyer in 1991. Wes Mussio initially worked as an ICBC defence lawyer for over a decade before deciding to move to the plaintiff side to help represent injured parties. In 2012, Wesley Mussio decided to join forces with Eric Goodman and open Mussio Law Group which was eventually named Mussio Goodman Law Group. The law firm developed quickly into one of the largest law firms specializing in personal injury litigation and estate litigation in British Columbia. The firm is now one of the leaders of personal injury litigation and estate litigation with 8 locations across Canada.
Wesley Mussio and Russell Mussio opened Backroad Mapbooks in 1993, which is now the largest national mapping company in Canada. Wes Mussio has a passion for the outdoors so this company is a perfect fit as he gets to partake in research projects while traveling in the outdoors.
For over a decade now, Wes Mussio has been involved in the administration of hockey programs. He was the President or Vice President for five years at the Burnaby Winter Club during which time he also helped run spring hockey programs such as the Vancouver Selects and Backroad Mapbook Eagles. In 2015, he purchased the Delta Ice Hawks of the Pacific Junior Hockey League bringing the team from a midrange ranking in the league to winning a championship. In 2017, he became the owner of the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL.
