SAMUELSEN ACQUIRED IN TRADE FOR LUCAS

Nanaimo, BC: The Nanaimo Clippers have acquired Thomas Samuelsen in a trade with Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for Andrew Lucas.

The 19-year-old, 5’10”, 190-pound forward is originally from Williston, VT. He spent the 2017-2018 season with the Kimball Union Academy in the United States High School Preparatory League. In 37 regular season games, Samuelsen scored 22 goals and added 21 assists.

Samuelsen has been with the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL for the 2018-2019 season so far, playing 2 games and adding one assist.

“Samuelsen is a forward with offensive scoring ability”. Clippers head coach and general manager Darren Naylor. “He plays a solid two-way game and will fit well into our top six forward group. We’re looking forward to him wearing a Clipper jersey for his time in the BCHL.”

Samuelsen has already secured an NCAA Division I scholarship to the University of Connecticut.
