NANAIMO — The Clippers and Capitals played yet another tight game on Friday night with Nanaimo winning 2-1.

It was a scoreless first period with Landon Pavlisin very busy stopping 16 of 16 shots. The Clippers tested Capitals starter Pierce Diamond eight times with Matt Mosher getting the best opportunity with a quick shot in tight.

Nanaimo scored the first goal on an early second period power play on a point shot by Carter Stephenson. But the Capitals responded with a tally from the right face off circle by Niko Selivanov.

#8 Isiah Hendricks battles former Clipper Brady Lynn for the puck in the corner.

He was set up by Josh Bourne who returned to the lineup and was only being used as a power play specialist.

Both of the Clipper power play goals were assisted by Tyler Williams who now has seven points in his last three games.

Landon Pavlisin made 42 saves overall including several game saving stops in the game’s final moments.

The shots finished 43-24 for Cowichan Valley with the Clippers going 2/6 on the man advantage and 7/7 on the penalty kill.

Friday’s Three Stars were Landon Pavlisin (42 saves), Tyler Williams (2 assists), and Robby Drazner (1 goal).
