NANAIMO, B.C. — The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Nicholas Holomego, who joins the team for the upcoming BCHL season. The 2006-born, left-shot defender will wear number 28 for the Clippers.
Standing at 6’5” and bringing nearly 100 games of Ontario Hockey League experience, Holomego adds size, poise, and a defense-first approach to the Clippers’ blue line. Known for his steady play and commitment in his own zone, he also trains in the off-season with Clippers alumnus Keegan Gerrie.
Head Coach and General Manager Colin Birkas expressed his excitement about the addition:
“I really like the look of our team, but when the opportunity came up for us to add a player with his size, experience and specific skill set, I felt we had to do it. Nicholas is a defense-first player who has already proven himself in the OHL, and he fits exactly what we need on the back end.”
Holomego is expected to make an immediate impact, strengthening the Clippers’ defensive core with his combination of physical presence and reliable play.
The Clippers would like to welcome Nicholas to Nanaimo!
