May 11th Game Day Preview

Tonight’s the last game of the 2021 Island Pod Season when the Clippers face the Alberni Valley Bulldogs at 7 p.m. tonight. The game will be one for pride as it will have no effect on the standings.

Head Coach Darren Naylor commented on tonight’s game, “Been a long grind this season and the players have been through a lot. I’m super proud of them and how they’ve persevered.”

“It’s the end of the 20-year olds Junior hockey careers and would like to get them a win tonight.”

Associate Coach Colin Birkas had this to say, “Going to be an emotional good bye to the overages.”

“I just want one more good performance from the group so we can do what every junior team sets out to do. Win their last game.”

Captain #27 Trevor LeDonne remarked, “Obviously an emotional game tonight for the 20-year olds and those who are graduating from junior hockey.”

“With that said the guys are ready to go for our last game. We had a good meeting yesterday to go over some systems and I feel confident that if we implement what we are told, that we will have success tonight.”

“We want to finish the season on a winning note and set the tone for next year’s team too.

#27 Trevor LeDonne and #16 Brody Waters celebrate #11 Thomas Maia’s overtime winning goal on April 28th over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
