Kyler Kovich named BCHL High School Player of the Month.

Nanaimo Clippers forward Kyler Kovich has been named the BCHL High School Player of the Month for the month of October.

This award is for players 18-years-old or younger who are attending high school full time and it’s based on in-class and on-ice performance.

On the ice, Kovich had seven goals and four assists for 11 points in 12 games in the month of October. The highlight of his month came in an Oct. 11 game against the Prince George Spruce Kings where he had a pair of goals in his team’s 5-4 shootout win on the road.

In the classroom, the Coquitlam, B.C. native attends Wellington Secondary in Nanaimo and is coming off a year where he got an A in nine of his 12 classes, including 100 per cent in English 11 and 93 per cent in Social Studies 11.

Kovich currently sits third in scoring on the Clippers with 14 points in 19 games and was listed as a Player to Watch by NHL Central Scouting earlier this year.
