Dave Liffiton new Assistant Coach and merger with VI Vikings

The Nanaimo Clippers announce the appointment of Dave Liffiton as an assistant coach and also the merger with VI Vikings.

Dave grew up in Windsor Ontario and played for the Plymouth Whalers in the OHL for three seasons. He was then drafted in the second round and #63 overall to the Colorado Avalanche in the 2003 NHL draft. Dave spent his time in the NHL with the Avalanche and the New York Rangers. Additionally, Dave played over 330 games in the AHL where he was a leader on his team wearing the “A” with the Hartford Wolfpack and the “C” with the Lake Erie Monsters. Dave then spent multiple years playing professionally overseas in Italy, Sweden, Austria, and Denmark. Dave is also extremely active in the youth hockey community. Some advice he has for aspiring young hockey players is that “there is no substitute for hard work”.

The merger with VI Vikings will see them take on the name of Nanaimo Junior Clippers and will see them be a spring program for youth hockey.
